In Loving Memory...

Duke, our Golden Retriever, was diagnosed with Lymphoma back in August and was expected to make it about 2-4 weeks.  He was just barely 8 years old at the time.  To our amazement, he responded extremely well to the medicine and was in remission until just recently, six months later!

Unfortunately, the cancer came back and we had to put him down two weeks ago.  It was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do in my entire life.  We miss him terribly.  I was just able to pick up his remains today, and plan to scatter him in my parents' back yard, his most favorite place to "explore".

Me miss you "Dukey"!

In loving memory of our furry friend...

RIP beautiful boy. My condolences to you and your family. My pups are my 2nd and 3rd children. I can't imagine the feeling of loss. Just rejoice in knowing he's running free of pain at the Rainbow Bridge.

That is just so sad, it is bad enough that we have to suffer with this horrible disease, let alone are poor pets. My thoughts are with you.
sending hugs your way!

So sorry to hear that, I know how hard it is. I had to put down 2 of my cats this past year, age 18 and 16. I cried for weeks. I also have a Golden named Duke ( that we call Dukey as well.) I will go give him a big hug now!

awwwww...I am sorry. Dogs have the ability to make you feel happy in the worst of circumstances. I hope that remembering all the times he just wagged his tail at you and made everything better will overcome the pain you are feeling through the loss. Thanks for sharing and he sure was a beautiful dog!!
