Sock Cupcake: FCCB Challenge #39 "Gifts Galore"!

I first made sock cupcakes almost a year ago...and I posted some of my first sock cupcakes in an earlier post back in February.  Well, I've been at it again!  This time I made them for Fantabulous Cricut's Challenge this week: "Gifts Galore": Create a handmade gift or gift package!  This has to be one of my most favorite gifts to give...and I made this one in Chrismas colors, just in time for the holiday!!!

For the cupcake wrapper, I have a Design Studio file graciously shared by Rach1Fun from the Cricut Messageboard.  You can find her blog HERE.  It uses the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and cuts this lovely scallop-edge wrapper!  The socks are from the Michael's Dollar Spot and the cherries (which look almost black in the photo, but are really a dark red) are from Target.

To turn this cutie into a gift, I placed it in a cello bag, tied a red ribbon around it, and stamped a sentiment (CTMH) on a circle cut with George and attached to a circle tag to embellish.

"Royal Cupcakes": FCCB Challenge #30 Natl. Bake & Decorate Month!

This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is called "National Bake & Decorate Month": create a project that has something to do with baking...and if we have the Cricut Cake, we can use that to create something tasty as well.  Well, I don't have the Cricut Cake.  :(  But that didn't stop me from whipping up something tasty!!!

I made some chocolate chip cupcakes and decided to dress them up a bit in honor of this week's challenge.  I have to brag a little on the super-cute graphics...because I didn't make them!!!  My friend Tommie, from OhMyGluestick! designs graphics that you can use for party decorations, including these little "party circles" which I used as cupcake toppers.  This set of four designs is from the "Alice In Wonderland" set (which was one of the featured free sets a while back!) and features the ace, spade, heart and club.  How fun would these be for a card game get-together or royal-themed party???  OMG! has an Etsy shop with TONS of graphics for party decor, and she does custom designs as well.  Go check her out!

Okay, to complete my cupcake toppers, I punched each image using a 1 1/2" circle punch.  Then I used my Cricut to cut a 1 3/4" circle (George & Basic Shapes) to mat the image and a 2" scallop circle (Storybook) to mat the circle.  I added stickles to the dot borders on each image to give them some sparkle and added a rhinestone in the center of each.  To finish, I attached them to lollipop sticks and tied coordinating ribbon around the sticks.  Super-easy and super-quick, and I think they're pretty stinkin' cute!

Cupcake Birthday Invitations

A friend of mine asked if I would make her daughter's first birthday invitations...such an honor!  She wanted cupcakes, so I scoured my manuals and let her decide which cupcake she wanted.  She picked this one from Once Upon A Princess.  It's actually the first project I've made with this cartridge!!!

She wanted pink and green with a little bit of "chocolate" thrown in.

I used Bazzil's Swiss Dots in a light green shade for the top layer of the cupcake liner and a solid green underneath.  The base of the invites (welded together in Design Studio) are white.

The pink layer of frosting was embossed with the Cuttlebug (Divine Swirls folder).  I inked everything and then added pink rhinestones on top and finished with a sheer pink bow.

Paper Cupcake Feature At FCCB!

For today's Scrappin' Saturday over at Fantabulous Cricut I am featuring Tresa, aka the Stamp Goddess, and her "Fabulously Artsy" paper cupcake.  I discovered this little treat a while back (you can see my original posts HERE and HERE) and decided I needed to share it with everyone over at FCCB in case they hadn't had the pleasure of seeing it! 

The cupcake above is the giftcard holder cupcake and the one below is the mini-album cupcake...

3D Cupcake Mini Album

This looks just like the cupcake giftcard holder, doesn't it?  Well, it's NOT!!!  It's made very simliarly to the giftcard holder but this one is actually a mini album!!!  Don't believe me?  Check this out:

Ta-da!!!  Isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen???  Wish I could take credit for the idea, but I can't.  This idea came from the creator of the giftcard holder cupcake: The Stamp Goddess, a CTMH consultant and YouTube sensation!  :)  Go check out her blog and look at her "fabulously artsy" projects!

For this cupcake, I used my Cricut (George) to cut the flowers for the icing and for the circles for the album pages, (and for the bottom of the cupcake to cover the chipboard cupcake holder).  It's a somewhat lengthy project, but not difficult...what a great gift for a birthday girl or just for someone that LOVES cupcakes!  I made this one for a friend of mine that just had a baby boy...just in case you were wondering about the blue.  :)

Sock Cupcakes!!!

I've been meaning to post these for a while, but I just forgot about them until tonight!  "Rach1" on the Cricut Messageboard was SOOOOOOO kind to send me the DS .cut file for the wrapper.  THANK YOU!!!  You can check out her blog at Rachie's Scrap Spot.

All it takes to make this is your Cricut, a sheet of paper (this is a print by Sandylion) and a pair of fluffy socks (I got these from the M's dollar bins!).  Oh, and a pom pom for the cherry on top.

Simply roll up the sock, toe first, and place inside wrapper.  Gently pull the inner-most part of the sock up and adjust the layers as needed.  Then pop a pom pom on top and ta-da!  What cute, inexpensive gift!

I plan to put these individually into some cello bags, wrap a cute ribbon and a tag on them and give them to teachers, friends, etc. when I need a last-minute gift!

February CTMH Workshops!!!

Here is a look at the projects for the workshops I'll be teaching in February!  I'm sooooo excited about these super-fun crafts...

It's back!  I'm teaching another cupcake class...I'm calling this one my "Red Velvet" cupcake, in honor of Valentine's Day!  We're using CTMH's That's Amore papers for this yummy treat!

I'm super-excited about my new monthly workshop, "Word Book Wednesday"!  One Wednesday a month, we'll be making a different word book.  This month's theme is "LOVE" for Valentine's Day!  Using CTMH's Silhouette papers and coordinating embellishments and stamps, create an album about the "LOVE" of your life!

This is a super-fun refillable notebook!  Covered in CTMH's Emporium papers, this bound notepad can be refilled once the original notepad (included) is gone.  This is great to keep in your purse or by the phone to take down messages!

This accordion baby album is made from a CTMH True Fit Folio!  It's been altered to include 12 pages and comes complete with tags.  Using the new Topstitch collection, this album can be customized for a boy or a girl...here I've used primarily blues and browns for a boy.  The options on this one are endless!

I'm doing my monthly Home Decor Club differently now...rather than having a financial commitment each month, I will allow anyone interested in the project to pay just the project fee...no commitment required!  It's new name???  "Hot Home Decor"...a monthly workshop in creating beautiful projects for your home!  This month we'll be making this birdie wall hanging, inspired by a similar one by "An Altered Obsession" I saw here. Mine is made with a mosaic of CTMH's Grace papers, Hemp and a twig...Spring is just around the corner!

I will be holding a monthly card workshop using the Workshop On The Go kits...this month's kit is Topstitch!  Create these beautiful cards using one of three workshop options:  basic card workshop, WOTG kit or WOTG kit + embellishments.

Also available this month is a Super-Saturday crop from 10-5!  You'll create your own 9x9 album using a CTMH album, one Level 2 paper pack and coordinating My Stickease Assortment.  You'll also have full use of my stamps, inks and tools, including my Cricut and 26 cartridges!

For the beginners out there, I'm hosting a "Scrapbooking 101" and Open House, to introduce you to art of scrapbooking, stamping and papercrafting.  I'll teach you the basics and let you know what you need to get started with this awesome hobby!  We'll have a FREE Make-n-Take, too!

Cupcakes, Cupcakes, Cupcakes!!!

Here's my latest "batch"!  The Mess Maker's preschool class went in on giftcards for both teachers for Christmas, and I was asked to make cupcakes to hold them!  I went with a red and green theme and this is the result:

I'm going to call these my Peppermint Cany Cane Cupcakes...  Hehehehe!  For directions on how to make these little cuties, please my original cupcake post, with a link to an online tutorial.

I got this idea from a YouTube Video (please see original post for link) and just fell in love with this project!

Well, Michaels Arts and Crafts store is having a Handmade Christmas Contest where you enter a handmade project for a chance to win a $250 giftcard to Michaels (who couldn't find $250 to spend there?!?!?!?) Another Cupcake Giftcard Holder

Here's another cupcake...I can't get enough of these little cuties, which is a problem because it makes me want the REAL thing!  :)  I used CTMH supplies for this one and I think it's the best yet.  I love the pink and brown combo of the More To Adore paper collection.  It's one of my favorites!  For directions, look here at my previous cupcake post and there's a link to video instructions.  Thanks for looking! 

3D Cupcake Giftcard Holder

This is probably one of my most favorite projects to date!  I just love this little thing and I really think it looks good enough to eat!!!  Not only is it just too cute to look at, it also holds a giftcard, hidden inside the cupcake!!! 

The idea came from the Stamp Goddess (Fabulously Artsy) and her YouTube video called "Hey, Cupcake".

The detailed, step-by-step instructions are included in that video.  But just to give you a basic understanding of what's involved, here's what I did:

1.  Used my Expression (George) to cut a 6" chipboard circle.  Snipped edges and folded up to form cupcake base.
2.  Accordian-pleated patterned paper to cover chipboard circle.
3.  Cut a styrofoam ball in half then added foam dots along two sides to hold the two halves together.
4.  Add layers of pleated ribbon, flowers (cut from Tags, Bags Boxes & More cartridge), crumpled paper, ribbon, and flowers.
5.  Glued painted wooden bead to top of small binder clip to make the "cherry" and used crumpled paper to make "whipped cream".  Glued whipped cream around cherry.
6.  Insert giftcard into binder clip, then insert inbetween two halves of styrofoam ball.
7.  Embellish with glitter glue.
