"Thankful" Layout: FCCB Challenge #37

This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is called "Thankful For": create a project about something you are thankful for.  That's easy for me...my kids!  :)

I used the CTMH Twitterpated papers on this one, which I have to admit are my favorite CTMH papers of all time!  The photo was taken almost a year ago, right before Thanksgiving, and I love that both of them are smiling (it's rare to capture both smiling at the same time in photos these days!). 

I used the Cricut Cindy Loo cartridge for the tree, deer and leaves for this layout.  The kids were cut from A Child's Year.  The title is made with letter stickers, also from the CTMH Twitterpated line.  I also added several brads and some journaling printed on the computer.

Handmade Christmas Gift #1: Post-It Note Holder

This year I'm doing a "Handmade Christmas" theme with my gift giving (as much as possible anyway!).  So I went back to some of my favorite tutorials by some really talented crafters and decided to highlight what I'm making and provide the link to these fabulous step-by-step directions.

These little Post-It Note holders were made following Dawn Griffith's tutorial over at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts.  I've been wanting to make these FOREVER and I decided they'd be great as part of my teacher gifts this year!  I added CTMH patterned paper (Twitterpated) over the base instead of stamping a background.

The pen is part of a 5 pack of mini-gel pens I found in the $1 bins at Michaels!  I bought the Post-It Note pads at Wal-Mart and you can replace them when the pad runs out...just use some double-sided adhesive and pop a new one in!  How nifty is that????

I love these little pumpkins!

I made the original paper pumpkin (pictured in a previous post) for my CTMH Launch Party...but I just had to make more...I just loves these little guys!  I decided to make several to display in a bowl on my table for the fall season.  I made two from orange cardstock, one from brown cs, and one more patterned pumpkin to match the original (with a different colored leaf and different sentiment)...here's how to make them:

1.  Cut 12 strips of 1" x 6" paper (cardstock isn't as easy to use for this project, but I made it work)
2.  Stack the strips of paper and punch a hole using a Crop-A-Dile at both ends of the stack.
3.  Place a brad through the holes and fasten.
4.  Carefully fan out and arch the paper strips until a round, pumpkin shape is achieved.
5.  Layer 2 pieces of ribbon and fold in half.  Tie a piece of hemp around the ribbons to form "stem".
6.  Using glue dots, attach all four ends of the stem to the top of the pumpkin, covering the brad.
7.  Cut a leaf (Doodlecharms on the Cricut), punch a hole in it, and set an eyelet.
8.  Using the hemp, tie the leaf around the stem of the pumpkin.

That's it...super easy and super fun...can't wait to make more of these!!!  :)

Projects From My Scrapbooking Retreat!!!
