Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #4: Word/Shape Theme

The fourth challenge at Fantabulous Cricut begins today and it's a shape/word theme: use a flower shape and the word "happy" somewhere on your project. And you have to use at least one Cricut cut, but it doesn't have to be the word/shape in the theme.

My project this week is a Mother's Day card. I used CTMH's Boom-Di-Ada papers for this one. I cut two flower shapes from the George cartridge and layered them, addind a button for the center. This is my main embellishment on the card. For the word "happy", I stamped the sentiment "Happy Mother's Day" (CTMH) onto a thin strip of cardstock and attached it to the bottom of the card.

The stamped background on the right side of the card base is made with a flourish from the Limited Edition Felicity CTMH stamp collection....which also happens to be the prize for this week's winner of the FCCB Weekly Challenge!!! :)

Photo Cube & Photo Stand Combo (Boom-Di-Ada)

When I saw the My Creations Cube by CTMH I wanted to come up with something to do to it to "alter" it a bit...to make it more than just a photo cube.  So I decided it'd be super-fun and super-cute to make a photo stand out of it!  This cube ships flat and then you just tie up the corners to make it into the 3D cube. 

To make this photo stand, I inked the edges of each side and then used CTMH's Boom-Di-Ada paper collection to decorate the sides and top.  I added photos and embellishments (CTMH, craft supply) to each side and the top.  Then I used my Soft Set Eyelet Tool (CTMH) to set two small eyelets (accented with inked flowers) into the top panel of the cube (see photo below). 

Before tying the top corners together (with string from Hobby Lobby), I hot glued a piece of styrofoam into the bottom of the cube.  Then I took some 14 gauge wire (Home Depot) and manipulated two pieces of it into swirls (to hold additional photos) and stuck the ends through the eyelets and down into the foam.  Ta-da!  Photo cube/photo holder combo accomplished!!!

Then I just added some flowers and coordinating My Stickease stickers to the stems of the photo holders and that's it!  Here is a view of the other two sides of the cube:

Easter Egg Accordian Album

The orginal idea for this album came from the April 2007 Issue of Scrapbook Trends Magazine and was created by Lisa Pace.

I decided to recreate this little album for the upcoming holiday, so I would have a place to showcase the Mess Maker and the Noise Maker's Easter photos.

I used CTMH's Boom-Di-Ada papers and the My Creations Memory Showcase Accordion Album (6x6).  I used my Cricut to cut the eggs (Doodlecharms) and the grass (Zooballoo).  I inked everything, including the base of the accordion album.

I inked two flowers and added pearl centers.  Then I cut mini flowers from George and added them to the grass.  I stamped two sentiments onto tags and added them to the flowers.  Now I just need to add some photos and journaling!

3-D Lotus Flower Pop-Up Card (Boom-Di-Ada)

I found a tutorial along with a template by "tekuila" to make this AWESOME pop-up lotus flower card and I just couldn't resist.  Now I would obviously prefer to use my Cricut and either Design Studio or Sure Cuts A Lot to do this, as it would save a LOT of time.  So if anyone out there knows how to go about doing this, PLEASE let me know!!!

For this one, I used CTMH's Boom-Di-Ada papers, focusing on the Hollyhock and Olive color combo.  I'm loving this project!

Thank You Cards (CTMH Boom Di Ada Collection)

I made these thank you cards using the Boom Di Ada patterned paper collection from CTMH.  To make the "thank you" stamped square, I combined several "thank you sentiments" from different CTMH stamp sets and randomly covered a 4x4 acrylic block with them!  Using Olive ink, I stamped the sentiment onto Colonial White cardstock and then rounded the corners.

I wrapped coordinating ribbon around the square, adhered a green flower (craft supply) and then layered a circular "thank you" sentiment in the center.  Then I matted the square with Boom Di Ada paper and adhered it to the card base.

CTMH Calendar/Planner with Boom-Di-Ada

I recently taught a class on this planner, which was based on a design by my upline.  This planner is made with Close To My Heart supplies, including the My Creations 3-Ring Binder, Boom-Di-Ada papers, My Acrylix Chocolate Alphabet (small), My Acrylix The Works Alphabet set and My Acrylix Beautiful Flourish set, along with CTMH Exclusive Inks pads.

I matted each calendar page on some old envelopes I've had laying around for about 8 1/2 years (they're extras from my wedding invitations)!!!  The envelopes can hold receipts, tickets, reminders or anything else you need to keep organized by month.

This binder has 5 sections, so I included sections for birthday/anniversary card reminder lists and shopping lists.  To complete this album, I adhered a notepad to the inside back cover (my upline's idea) which can be removed and replaced when empty!

When the year is up, just add more invitation size evelopes with new calendar pages and it's ready to go for the next year!
