Owl Card (BBTB Challenge: Wild Card Owl Challenge)

I was sooooo bummed that the BBTB Challenge this week was to use the owl diecut on the Cricut Wild Card cartridge...which I don't have.  :(  The examples were sooooooo cute and I sooooooo wanted to play along.

But, I decided to play anyway!!!  This owl is from the Storybook cartridge and pretty cute, too...it obviously doesn't meet the requirement for the challenge, but it made me feel better than I could make an owl card and pretend to be as cool as everyone else!!!  :)

I made a pink card base and used a brown and pink polka dot print on top.  I cut out lighter pink cs cricles for the eyes and used some jumbo "eyeball" brads for the eyes.  I cut out the dandelion diecut from the Storybook cartridge and cut it in half and used them as eyelashes.  Then I went crazy with the stickles and highlighted the darker pink dots on the print, the beak, the eyelashes, the ears and the toenails.  I finished with a bow and flowers, dotted with a rhinestone.  It's obviously a girl...  :)

Craft: Yellow "Laugh" Mini Card (BBTB Challenge: WIMG)

The current challenge on Bitten By the Bug is to use the "card2" and "envelope2" cuts from the Walk In My Garden Cricut cartridge, and to use yellow. I made this mini-card with two-sided paper from Imaginisce. I used the WIMG cartridge for the card base and envelope. And I used the Home Decor cartridge (my FAV!!!) for the swirl frame. I cut the frame in white and the shadow in light blue. I matted the cirlce with yellow and used a "Laugh" rub-on by Paper Bliss. I added two layered silk flowers with a rhinestone brad and put stickles over the white to give it some sparkle (the paper has a bit of sparkle on it, but you can't tell in the photo). I wrapped a light blue ribbon around, tied a bow and then added the frame. The envelope has a layered flower accent on the flap. TFL!!! :)

Craft: School Bus Card (BITTEN by the BUG Contest: School Theme)

This week's contest on BITTEN by the BUG is to create a project with a school theme. The first day of school is such an exciting time for little ones! I decided a make a school bus card for my daughter (The Mess Maker) who is starting preschool this year...my baby is growing up!!! I thought it'd be a nice little send-off for her first day.

I used the Doodlecharms cartridge to cut the card base and bus layers. I also cut the apple and children's faces with it. The "school" letters were cut with Street Sign. I added a bow with a stick figure brad (I don't know...just seemed school-ish to me!) to attach it. TFL! :)
